HOW TO MAKE A DREAM BOARD

GETTING STARTED
Y
our first step to making a dream board is to schedule a time to do it.  Your next step is to decide whether you want to create a physical dream board or a digital dream board - there's no right or wrong way to do it - it really just comes down to your personal preference.

A physical board takes more time and effort to create but can be more impactful and attractive as a result – while a digital version is easier to have with you at all times and you can set it as the background on your phone or computer screen so you're constantly being reminded of your dreams throughout the day.

I personally prefer to create physical dream boards because I enjoy making them and love hanging them up in my office!  I also write my goals on my bathroom mirror so that I see them every day.

CREATE A LIST OF GOALS YOU'D LIKE TO ACHIEVE NEXT YEAR
To create a vision that embodies your goals, you must first determine what they are.  Where are you now, what aren't you satisfied with or what do you want more of in life?  Where do you want to go?  What do you want your life to be like?  Where do you want to be?  Spend some time getting clear on where you are and where you want to go and what you want to accomplish so that you can determine what you need to do in the next 12 months to get you closer to living out those dreams.

COLLECT OLD MAGAZINES OR FIND PHOTOS ONLINE
Find some magazines (ask friends if they have any laying around, buy some from Target or a grocery store or see if thrift stores have any) If you don't want to find magazines, you can also search for pictures of your dream home, vacations, etc. on Google and print them out for your dream board.

FIND PICTURES AND WORDS THAT INSPIRE YOU + REMIND YOU OF YOUR GOALS

Go through the magazines or search online for pictures and words that speak to you and represent your goals or things you want in life.  Look for imagines that make you say "Yes, I want that!" You don't have to put a photo of your exact dream home on the board, but a home that represents your dream home.  Look for words that describe how you want to feel.  "Joy, Power, Free, Wealth, Fearless, Time" are perfect examples of some words that might align with your goals and help you remember what you're working towards.   These pictures and words should help you manifest your dreams when you look at them!

CREATE YOUR COLLAGE

Once you have collected enough pictures, words, and images, it’s time to bring everything together and start creating!  Arrange your personal collection of cut images into an attractive display on a poster board, foam board or a piece of paper.  (I love the idea of doing it on a sheet of 8x11.5" paper and framing it so you can set it somewhere you'll see everyday!)

Then glue or tape your pictures onto the board to make it complete!  If you're creating a digital one, use an app like PicCollage to bring all your images into a pretty virtual collage in one place.

PLACE IT WHERE YOU'LL SEE IT

Once you've created your board you will want to put it somewhere where you will see it everyday!  Look at your board at least once or twice a day to really think hard about why you're doing this, where you want to go and to help you manifest your dreams every day!
